Michael Dang of Oroki Productions returns to direct the aerial “Spooktacles” for this year’s Haunted History tour. Having performed circus arts in San Francisco, Portland, and Seattle, he now works as Creative Director to make productions such as Alice in Shadowland, a collaboration between circus and the queer visual arts duo, Shadow Girls Cult. Aside from these creative ventures, he provides classes and private instruction at Georgetown’s School of Acrobatic and New Circus Arts and SODO’s Emerald City Trapeze Arts.

Orion combines live instruments, walls of sound, vocal samples, and modular synthesis to create sonic landscapes with a side of dance metal. Clayton Ballard is a musician, actor and painter with a love for storytelling. Multiple mediums allow him to tell these stories in different and memorable ways. Catch Clayton on the Bill Speidel’s Enterprises tours of Seattle.

Elke Hautala is a filmmaker, performer and visual anthropologist with a passion for connecting the public to history and diverse cultures. Her work manifests in a variety of forms from feature documentaries, such as her forthcoming film Visions in the Fire (about the life art and work of Tlingit glass artist Preston Singletary) to mixed media projects such as 3,260 Souls which premiered at FoGHi’s Haunted History tour. Her work has been exhibited everywhere from the Social Justice Film Festival and Neptune Theatre to the Alamo Drafthouse Austin and The Jewish Museum in Amsterdam. She has been awarded a GAP grant, City Artist Grant, 4 Culture grant and Sealaska Grant. Shadow Girls Cult, co-founded by Cass Bray & Zane Exactly, is a queer shadow puppetry and projections duo based in Seattle, WA. Our practice involves a unique blend of shadow puppetry and live animation techniques. Using overhead projectors, human silhouettes, and other analog technology, we create an engaging and cinematic viewing experience for the audience. Our work has been twice presented in the National Puppetry Slam (2019, 2022), as well as featured in the National Puppetry Journal (2019) and The Seattle Times (2022). Their work has been showcased in Chinese Theatre Works’ 2021 International Shadow Slam and Dragon Con 2022 as educators and presenters. Audra is Elke Hautala’s real life identical twin sister and a seasoned performer for several decades in the worlds of electronica, jazz, cabaret and burlesque. She graces many different stages as her alter ego Ula Vamps, described as “Doris Day meets Amy Winehouse” in Boise, Idaho and beyond. She’s currently creating an educational arts based program exploring the legacy of Dirty Blues music and female empowerment. https://www.ulavampsalot.com/

Founder/owner of Fantagraphics Books will perform as Steven Jesse Bernstein (image above). Provocative poet Bernstein was a fixture in Georgetown throughout the 80’s and early 90’s, performing with many Seattle music acts like Nirvana and playing with Big Black at the Georgetown Steam Plant in 1987. He sadly committed suicide under mysterious circumstances in 1993. Come hear Larry deliver Bernstein’s anthem to Georgetown from a shadowy doorway along the tour.

Pamela Bond is an Indigenous Storyteller, Filmmaker, Coast Salish Plant Medicine Specialist, Human Rights and Environmental Activist and a Weaver. She shares stories about Indigenous burial practices and local Puget Sound Coast Salish stories, including the Basket Ogress.

Brian Dougherty, 20-year resident of Georgetown, is an avid lover of history. His engaging smile and warm personal approach have audiences gathering closer to listen to his character’s musings. He has been a part of the tour since 2006 in multiple facets from tour guide, ghostly greeter, production crew and last year we saw him in the role as beloved bar owner, Jules Maes. In this 20th production, he will embody the ghost of Mayor Hiram Gill.

Brian Kennon, Georgetown Heights Duo, has been a part of the tour since 2010. He is a charismatic artist who has a talent for crowd engagement and storytelling through song. He has played Mayor John Anton Mueller, banker Julius Horton as well as undertaker, Mr. Herbert Noice. This year he will be resurrecting haunted lover Frank Alexander from his charred, smokey grave. 

Cari Simson is the producer of the Friends of Georgetown History’s annual Georgetown Haunted History Tour, which has entertained sold out crowds for the past several years. Cari is a creative mixed media artist and environmental consultant who focuses on connecting people with their local environments.

Jen Nye is a can-do-anything machine of never-ending energy and enthusiasm for the community spirit. From directing the South Park Art Under $100 sale for many years, to Seattle Putts Out, to festive gatherings across our region, Jen is thrilled to be part of this year's Georgetown Haunted History Tour!
